Outdoor-Façade lighting

Some more detail

Project description

Lighting for the Sant’Andrea Basilica facade in Vercelli. Iconographic and historical symbol of the city, the Basilica di Sant’Andrea is the church of a monastery in Vercelli, Piedmont, northern Italy, founded in 1219 by Cardinal Guala Bicchieri and completed in 1227. It represents an early example of Gothic architecture in Italy, inspired by Cistercian models and featuring Romanesque elements as well.

The objective of the lighting project is to enhance the  the architecture during the night, illuminating the facade of the building in a uniform way, maintaining a good balance between light and shadow. Accurate lighting techniques have been adopted, with projectors installed on the surrounding buildings. The project includes cross-beam projectors equipped with special accessories to limit glare.
